Adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Supradip Chakma today said Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has ushered in a new era of modern education and regional integration by launching e-learning activities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

He made the remarks at the formal inauguration of e-learning programmes in 12 schools across the three hill districts. The initiative was virtually inaugurated by Professor Yunus from the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital.

Supradip Chakma said the programme reflects the Chief Adviser’s vision of expanding access to quality education in the remote hilly areas. “Through this groundbreaking e-learning initiative, students of the Chittagong Hill Tracts are now being connected with world-class education,” he said.

The programme currently covers 12 educational institutions—one primary and three secondary schools in each of the three hill districts. The adviser said the government plans to expand the initiative to at least 150 schools, with the tender process for the expansion expected to be completed within this month.

Highlighting the government’s development philosophy, Supradip Chakma said the administration is determined to ensure that the Chittagong Hill Tracts do not lag behind other regions of the country. He noted that the use of technology in education will also contribute to economic growth, improved communication and the promotion of tourism in the region.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to build a harmonious, progressive and technologically advanced hill region based on human dignity and inclusiveness.

Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and senior officials of the Chief Adviser’s Office were present at the ceremony.
