Bangladesh has etched its name into the Guinness World Records by setting a new global milestone for parachuting with the highest number of flags flown simultaneously, marking the Great Victory Day on December 16, 2025.

The World Records Management Team officially confirmed the achievement to Team Bangladesh on Monday, according to a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

As stated on the Guinness World Records website, “The most flags flown simultaneously while skydiving (parachute jump) is 54 and was achieved by Team Bangladesh (Bangladesh) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 16 December 2025.”

The record attempt was undertaken to bring together skydivers from across the country in a single historic feat and to showcase national unity and collaboration. The initiative also commemorated Bangladesh’s 54th Victory Day.

Expressing his delight over the global recognition, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun said the achievement was a moment of pride for the nation. “Today is a day of pride for everyone in the country. We want to share this joy with all the people of Bangladesh,” he said.

A total of 54 participants took part in the record-setting parachute jump, each carrying a flag, making the event both a symbolic and historic celebration of Bangladesh’s Great Victory Day.
