A total of 485,184 voters have so far registered to cast their ballots through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum, according to the Election Commission (EC).
The EC said the registered voters include expatriate Bangladeshis living abroad, government officials engaged in election duties, and voters currently residing outside their respective constituencies. Data published on the EC website until 11:30am today show that 455,545 male voters and 29,637 female voters have completed registration through the app.
Among expatriates, Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of registrations with 122,401 voters, followed by Qatar (44,543), Oman (32,741), Malaysia (31,497), the United Arab Emirates (24,286), the United States (23,032), the United Kingdom (17,078), Singapore (16,857), Kuwait (16,109), Italy (12,915) and Canada (10,821).
In addition, 52,994 voters currently residing within Bangladesh registered under the “in-country postal vote” category during the same period.
District-wise data show Cumilla leading with 50,936 registered voters, followed by Dhaka (43,881), Chattogram (42,066), Noakhali (29,523) and Sylhet (21,573).
At the constituency level, Feni-3 topped the list with 7,917 registered voters, followed by Chattogram-15 (7,333), Noakhali-1 (7,131), Cumilla-10 (6,830) and Noakhali-3 (6,576).
