Supreme Court Resumes Regular Judicial Proceedings Tomorrow After 42-Day Vacation

The Supreme Court (SC) is set to resume its regular judicial proceedings tomorrow, following the conclusion of a 42-day vacation that began on September 8.

According to an official notification, Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed has formed 54 High Court benches with specific jurisdictions to handle trial proceedings after the break. The SC’s regular operations had been on hold until today.

The Appellate Division of the SC, comprising six judges including the Chief Justice, will hold its first hearing tomorrow. Subsequently, the full bench will be split into two, with each continuing judicial proceedings starting Monday, October 21.

In the High Court Division, there are 101 judges. Out of these, 83 judges have been assigned to 29 Division Benches and 25 Single High Court Benches.
