The HSC and equivalent exams for 2024 commenced on June 30. However, after the completion of seven exams, students across Bangladesh began protesting against the quota system in government jobs, leading to the postponement of further examinations. The initial plan was to resume the exams on August 11, later pushed to September 11. However, after students protested inside the Secretariat in August, the authorities were forced to cancel the postponed exams. Authorities made the decision to evaluate results based on the completed subjects. For the subjects whose exams were cancelled, the Ministry decided to adopt a subject mapping method. Under this method, students’ grades for the cancelled subjects were derived from their SSC or equivalent exam results.
