BFIU Orders Banks to Freeze Accounts of Sajeeb Wazed, Saima Wazed and Radwan Mujib Siddiq

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has directed all banks to freeze the accounts of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Saima Wazed, her daughter, and Radwan Mujib Siddiq, son of Sheikh Rehana.

Additionally, the BFIU has instructed the freezing of accounts linked to Nasrul Hamid, former state minister for power, energy, and mineral resources, along with accounts associated with the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and its ‘Young Bangla’ project.

The directive, issued today, mandates the freezing of these accounts for an initial period of 30 days.
