Five women and the Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket Team were honored with the “Indomitable Women’s Award-2025” for their remarkable contributions in various fields.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presented the awards at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka to mark International Women’s Day.

The event, chaired by Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid, was attended by members of the Council of Advisers, diplomats, women leaders, and senior government officials.

The award recipients included Sharifa Sultana, Halima Begum, Marina Besra, Lipi Begum, Muhin Mohona, along with members of the Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket Team.

Speaking at the event, UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Gwyn Lewis, Dhaka University Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Gitiara Nasreen, and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Mamtaj Ahmed highlighted the achievements of the honorees.

A documentary was screened at the event, followed by a cultural program that paid tribute to the July Uprising.
