The Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) today stressed the importance of easing financial regulations to enhance the ease of doing business and foster a favorable trade and investment environment.
This observation was made during a meeting between JBCCI’s Board of Directors and Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin at his office in the city, according to a press release.
The JBCCI delegation was led by its President, Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (Jun).
Discussions at the meeting focused on progressing the ongoing Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) negotiations between Bangladesh and Japan, as well as highlighting JBCCI’s initiatives and key priorities.
The chamber also shared its recently published Study Report on the EPA with the adviser.
During the meeting, the JBCCI board emphasized the need for reforms in essential areas, including financial regulations, the overall business environment, taxation policies, and other operational challenges.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin expressed his gratitude to the JBCCI board for their recommendations and assured them that the government would take necessary measures to address these issues.
