Shafiqul Alam, the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, assured today that there is no shortage of edible oil in the market, and the interim government has implemented measures to ensure an adequate supply during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, Alam stated, “We believe there is no crisis of soybean oil in the country as there is sufficient stock in the market.”
The government has engaged with edible oil importers and facilitated the opening of letters of credit (LCs) through banks to streamline imports. Additionally, measures are in place to monitor international market prices to prevent disruptions in the supply chain and ensure fair pricing for consumers.
“We are making every effort to provide soybean and palm oil at reasonable prices during Ramadan,” Alam emphasized.
Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder also attended the briefing.
