The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has established a five-member taskforce to recommend reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s capital market.
According to a press release issued today, the taskforce will include Prof. Mohammed Helal Uddin from Dhaka University’s Economics Department, and KAM Majedur Rahman, former Managing Director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Other members include AFM Nesaruddin, senior partner of Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co.; Prof. Md Mostofa Akbar from the Computer Science and Electronics Department of BUET; and Al-Amin, Associate Professor of Accounting and Information Systems at Dhaka University.
The taskforce is tasked with recommending reforms that will boost investor confidence and promote good governance in the capital market, the release stated.
