The reality is that the U.S. is likely to follow wherever Israel leads

It’s clear the US anticipated this event, as they had signaled that an attack was imminent, likely based on intelligence from satellite images or drones.

The information may have come from Israel, as there are reports that Iran warned its Arab neighbors about the attack. Israel caught wind of it and warned Iran that they would respond regardless of the scale of the attack. So, it’s possible the Israelis passed the intel to the Americans.

The pressing question now is, what happens next? Prime Minister Netanyahu has stated that Iran will face consequences, while President Biden warned of “severe consequences.” These are strong words, hinting at potential military action.

However, we’ve seen this before. In April, after Iran launched attacks on Israel, President Biden made a similar statement but later walked it back, as he doesn’t want this to escalate into a larger conflict.

The reality is, wherever Israel goes, the US is likely to follow, given its full support for Israel. While Biden wants to avoid an all-out war, if Netanyahu moves in that direction, the US could be drawn into it.
